Yellow scarf helped me stand on my feet. For 14 years I have been dependent, and for the first time I had the chance to feel real emotions, that weren’t affected by alcohol. Through the events organised by Yellow Scarf, especially bike rides, I had the opportunity to meet sober people and see the beauty of Britain. I would recommend Yellow Scarf to anyone who wants to get their life back on track. (35 days being sober)

Thanks to the regular meetings in polish, for the first time I had the chance to open up to help. I never wanted to integrate with the British community, as I was worried of the language barrier. However the events organised by Yellow Scarf made me realise that to want is enough as it allows you to act upon. ( 13 mponths being sober)

Sorry for messaging you so late.
Alcohol and drugs are perfect killers that strike at any day or night, without a warning.
I understood after fifteen years of drug and alcohol addiction, that you cannot be strong while being dependent. Again I am at the bottom without anyone or anything, with full realisation that I have caused it. I am lost and have disappointed people close to me.
Similar to you, I wanted to live in an illusionary world, because it was easier that way. I would pity myself, and so make myself into a victim of the system, lost and incapable of anything, running from the law.
R, can you please help me stay sober, as I do not have the mental strength you had. I respect you for being able to stay sober for over 8 years. I understand that it will be like stepping on brittle ice, but teach me to love and forgive myself. As well as help me win with dependencies once and for all.
